The retro gaming market continues to rise in value, some old games you may have at home are seeing their value climb massively. This news is courtesy of PriceCharting, an invaluable source for retro gaming enthusiasts that lets you track the value of the games you have in your collection. And the site’s latest report has revealed that some older Nintendo, SEGA and PlayStation games released in the UK have seen major price increases – with one game in particular seeing a massive increase in value by almost £2,000.

The game that saw the biggest price increase was the limited edition version of the GameBoy Color adventure The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages and Seasons.

According to PriceCharting, the price of this game (first released in 2001) has increased by around £1,807 to £2,657.

The game with the second highest price increase in the UK is the rare SEGA Saturn adventure Panzer Dragoon Saga, which saw its value increase from £242 to £405.

This cult classic RPG was released in 1998 and faced stiff competition for gamers’ attention in a stacked year that saw the release of The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, Resident Evil 2 and Metal Gear. Solid.

While the retro game that saw the third highest price increase may surprise you. That game is PS1 title Cindy’s Fashion World, which has seen its price increase from £224 to £896.

The inclusion of this little-known game may surprise you, but there are plenty of the usual suspects on the latest list of “hot” retro gaming items compiled by PriceCharting.

These games include PS1 titles Castlevania Symphony of the Night, Klonoa Door to Phantomile and Clock Tower, which for years have been extremely valuable and sought after by collectors.

Elsewhere, other Saturn games that have seen their price spike recently include survival horror Deep Fear and cute platform shooter Keio Flying Squadron 2.

In terms of newer releases, Garou Mark of the Wolves Ultimate Grant Edition for the PS4 has also seen its price increase from £137 to £340.

It is important to point out that these prices apply to PAL versions of games (i.e. UK and Europe).

The prices of retro games can change from region to region, so the value of the Japanese or American versions of these aforementioned games could be very different.
