With Hayden Christensen making another appearance in an upcoming live-action series, we take a look at how he might fit into the Ahsoka spectacle.
Hollywood Reporter and Ahsoka actress Rosario Dawson have confirmed that Hayden Christensen will be making a comeback in the upcoming Disney + series, Ahsoka. The series will take place after the events of The Mandalorian and likely explore the scenarios previously set up in both his animated appearances and his appearance in The Mandalorian.
With Hayden Christensen officially returning as Anakin Skywalker on the show, the question arises: how? Through Star wars, there are a few examples of how Anakin can appear depending on the timeline and history.
Ahsoka’s story as a character is deeply rooted in her animated appearances. She appeared in six seasons of The clone wars and two seasons of Rebels with all of its major character developments and storylines taking place in these shows.
His interactions with Anakin are exclusive to these properties, so seeing some scenes from these shows recreated in live-action is an incredibly exciting possibility. Moments like Ahsoka leaving the Jedi Order, reuniting with Anakin, or his confrontation with Vader would all be fantastic fan favorites to suit the live action.
Although with Rosario Dawson playing the adult version of the character, it seems more likely that a scene from Rebels would be recreated that Clone wars. Casting a younger Ahsoka is possible, but it seems more likely that we’ll only see Dawson in the role.
We have seen many Jedi throughout the Star wars the franchise experiences bizarre characters developing visions through The Force. Ahsoka was no exception to this rule.
In Rebels we see her visiting a Jedi temple in which she seeks to learn more about the Sith Lord she has encountered, Darth Vader. However, in her vision, she is confronted with Anakin. it’s an emotional scene with an ethereal Skywalker that gives context to all of Ahsoka’s feelings in the aftermath of the Clone Wars.
At time Ahsoka, Vader / Anakin has been gone for a while, but his guilt may not be. A vision of strength involving a return of Christensen can provide a decent exploration of Ahsoka’s character and state of mind at the time of the series, also clarifying what she knows about what happened in the series. Original trilogy.
Force the ghost
With Ahsoka at about the same time as The Mandalorian (half a decade after the events of Return of the Jedi) Anakin has already been redeemed and returned as Force Ghost.
This is perhaps the most obvious answer to how Christensen will return for the series. Ahsoka interacting with a Force-Ghost Anakin and getting the closure that he was redeemed would be a fantastic reward after their dramatic meetings at Rebels and wonderful arcs for Ahsoka decades after his stint as Anakin’s padawan.
There are a lot of ways we could potentially see the character making a comeback in the Star wars universe in Ahsoka but until then we will also see Hayden Christensen coming back in Obi wan kenobi.
On November 12, Disney + Day takes place, potentially offering new information on the upcoming Star wars series.
